Gunflint Cycles

Made in Minnesota

Steel bikes, made by hand.

City

I love this thing. Grocery getter, taproom bike, lazy day tooling around the neighborhood bike, whatever. Lugged and built mostly out of leftover tubes she's a blast.

Singlespeed Disc

Oversized Nova tubes, sliding dropouts from Paragon, cheapo fork to fit the 1" headtube I built by mistake. This thing is sooooo much fun. It's the only bike I rode in 2018 because it's a hoot. Stiff, climbs like a rocket, handles beautifully and is super plush thanks to the 38c tubeless GravelKings.

Cross

Columbus Life tubing. This was an experiment to see how lightweight I could go with the tubeset and have it not fall apart. I have yet to build it up because, well, I'm just not in love with it. Also, I finished my single-speed disc not long afterward and I am beyond in love with riding that puppy.

Road

Frame #2. Double-oversized Columbus tubing. Lively, handles well, eats up the miles. I've abused this frame for 10,000 miles and it keeps coming back for more. Every time I ride it I'm shocked at how nicely it came out because, honestly, I really didn't know what I was doing when I built it. Still don't.

About

Yeah, that's me down along the Mississippi River in St. Paul on my fatbike. I'm just a hobby builder but who knows what the future holds. When I'm not in the Twin Cities I'm usually up in Grand Marais, MN, starting point for the Gunflint Trail. Hence the name "Gunflint Cycles."
